Funeral Planning

Funeral Planning

When a Catholic dies, the Church celebrates a particular set of liturgical rites to help us through the immediate days of our grieving, to expresss our belief in eternal life, and to help us pray for the one who has died.

The funeral is the central service within the Order of Christian Funerals and should be a source of great comfort to all who gather for it. Planning it alongside our pastor can help you better express your love for the one who has died, your own profound sorrow and your faith in our kind and merciful God who promises us eternal life.

To assist you in planning the funeral for your loved one, Saint James Church has created the below Funeral Liturgy Planning Book that serves as a reference for you to review. It is suggested the planning book be printed for easier viewing. (Legal size printing required)

In addition, we have created the below Liturgical Planning Sheet that you will print and complete and turn into our pastor to prepare for the funeral Mass.  (Legal size printing required)

Please contact the Parish Office at 724-668-2829 Option #3 for further questions and planning for the funeral liturgy for your loved one.
